Privacy policy
Shop owner: please review this policy and make sure it describes how you work before going live.
This policy explains what personal information Ruhe (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website or order from us, why we use it and the choices you have. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Order details you give us when you send an order: your name, phone number, email address (optional), delivery address, the pieces you order and any notes or gift message.
- WhatsApp messages you send us, which are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
- Reviews you choose to submit, including the name and town you provide.
- Payment information: when you pay by bank transfer we see the name on the paying account, the amount and the reference. We never see or store card details.
Information stored on your device
Your bag, saved pieces, text size and (if you choose) your delivery details are stored in your own browser so the website remembers them. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us until you place an order. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To process, deliver and support your order (our lawful basis is performing a contract with you).
- To keep records for accounting and tax (legal obligation).
- To publish reviews you’ve asked us to publish (consent, which you can withdraw).
Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run the shop: our delivery partner (for example Royal Mail) to post your order, and our secure website and database providers (Cloudflare and Supabase), who process data on our behalf. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes (usually six years), then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Contact us at WhatsApp on 07467 282537. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
